Free Parking

Have you ever had one of “those mornings? I have, and today is one of “those” days for me. I had to go and take my son to get blood work done, so I parked in the parking lot of the blood clinic. We went in, but quickly realized that we couldn’t have the blood test done because i had given him his medicine, out of routine! So, again tomorrow we will do this. As frustrating as this ism the really frustrating part came when I exited the parking lot. I had to pay $4.00 to get out of the parking lot. $4.00! For being in the parking lot for a total of 3 minutes, I had to pay $4.00. As unfortunate as this was, I breathed and moved on from it.

Next, I went to an x-ray clinic to get my foot x-rayed. I parked my car, paid $2.00 to park, which is still better than $4.00; and went into the building. So upon finding the suite of the x-ray clinic, I realized that the office was no longer there, just a note saying “closed as of Sept. 27th”.

So within a matter of minutes, I spent a total of $6.00 for parking my car; and accomplished nothing.

I am sure that I am not the only one that has experienced such incidents. Unfortunately it is extremely common now to have to pay for parking. Any medical appointment I go to, I know that I need to bring a minimum of a toonie with me.  If you are needing to be at the doctor’s frequently, then you are paying even more money for parking. No receipts issued, no explanation of where your money has gone…just eaten by the parking meter machine.

I just want everyone to know that at ACT Associates, we believe in free parking.  We don’t think that you should have one more barrier that prevents you from working on making a better life for yourself. So, when you come to visit us here at ACT Associates, come with your mind at ease that you don’t have to search your wallet for parking money!

See you soon,
